Midrand, March 2023 – NEC, majority shareholder of NEC XON Systems (one of Africa’s leading innovation and systems integration partners), has announced that it was recognised as a 2022 Juniper Partner of the Year by Juniper Networks, a leader in secure, AI-driven networks. Each year, Juniper Networks recognises partners based on their ability to drive innovative business solutions, exceptional attention to the user experience, and achievement of their financial goals.
NEC was recognised in the category of Juniper Global Alliance Partner of the Year for the fourth consecutive year, for its ability to develop innovative data center and cloud-integrated network solutions integrating Juniper Networks technologies.
Partner of the Year Awards are part of the Juniper Partner Advantage Program (JPA). The Program not only recognises Partners for their outstanding performance, but helps partners build, sustain and grow their Juniper Practice.
Thomas Desrues, VP of Strategic Alliances at Juniper Networks, said, “Juniper and NEC have continued to work in partnership on a number of initiatives for almost two decades, and 2022 was a particularly transformative year. With our aligned strategy, working towards our shared vision of driving 5G open network adoption, we ensure our customers have the freedom to deploy the best multi-vendor solutions with full integration and validation, orchestrated end-to-end.”
Desrues added, “NEC has also worked closely with Juniper on IP Transport Networks expanding to data center, automation and AI-driven networks. Juniper is delighted to award NEC with the Global Alliance Partner of the Year award for the fourth consecutive year and looks forward to our continued commitment to driving service provider transformation.”
According to Anthony Laing, GM of Networking at NEC XON Systems, the company has invested strategically in Juniper technologies since 2005. “Those were the early days of Juniper’s South African and sub-Saharan markets. Today, Juniper forms an integral part of many of our solutions delivered across the entire African continent. We’ve brought Juniper networking equipment into some of Africa’s foremost mobile and fixed-line network operators across many African countries.”
